These posters were displayed at a group exhibition at Grafill, with the first year master students in Graphic Design and Illustration at Khio. Paper was the theme of the show. I explored the concept of writing without ink. I used techniques such as embossing, cutting, folding and laser burning. I’ve strived to bring the paper to the forefront, allowing the motifs to interact with its qualities and textures. I worked with the flow and rhythm of spontaneous handwriting, removing the semantic content to see how the form developed when freely improvised. I wanted to capture a direct energy, yet present it with subtlety. Can I make something speak low and loud at the same time?
